About Wabi Saki
Ann’s love of food knows no bounds as she searches for perfection in every meal.
In Ann’s own words:
“Japanese meals are story-tellers and I make my food with the same passion and love as those who created these delicacies. I search for perfection in every meal. I want everyone to share with me that love placed before them. Even the name for my restaurant: Wabi-Saki, (Wabi…Freshness and solitude, and Saki…Blossom and hope), tells you of my dream to bring that freshness, love and perfection to you”.
The stories within each plate tell you of the sacrifices made by those wishing to keep the freshness, natural and traditional purity of those dishes placed before you. From the brave fishermen facing the savagery of the powerful seas and mighty oceans, to the farmers working under the ferocity of an unforgiving sun; all to bring to you food of exceptional quality. Delicacies created over the centuries from the small villages hidden within the depths of those mountains from the mighty Fuji to the modest Komaki and those forbidden forests, homes of the Kodama, and other tree sprites…each meal is a story.
